To Whom It May Concern:
Wendt Withers (President of Encompass) started working for us in mid-1997, though at the time he was working for another computer services company. That company folded midway through networking our firm. Wendt stayed on and helped us finish the job even though he was under no obligation to do so and wasn’t being paid. When he came to me a few weeks after that and told me of his plans to start his own company, I hired him on the spot.
Encompass has since helped us to expand our Windows NT network to almost 20 workstations. They’ve helped set us up with office and Internet e-mail, and with the ability for our staff to access the World Wide Web through the server. When we were having problems with a local Internet service provider, Encompass suggested we break the connection between web & e-mail hosting and dial-up access. We now have a much more reliable connection to the Internet, and Encompass is hosting our web and e-mail.
They’ve written a number of programs to help us get things done more efficiently, including one networked database application and another on the way. They helped us select and then install two new high-speed network printers that have dramatically decreased our printing problems. They spent the better part of an afternoon sitting down with us and discussing ways that we could help things run even more smoothly. And that consultation was FREE!
The work ethic and communications skills with which Encompass operates are my favorite parts of doing business with them. They patiently make certain that each of us understands our options for the best, most cost effective solutions for each situation. Encompass assists, advises, and trains our part-time systems manager as needed. Because of their flexibility and willingness to problem solve with us, we avoid the overhead of keeping a computer expert on staff.
